Wireless Social is very pleased to announce that it has been granted ‘approved provider’ status for the Friendly Wi-Fi scheme.
Wireless Social is proud to support the work of Friendly Wi-Fi, the world’s first accreditation scheme designed to verify whether a business’s public Wi-Fi service meets a minimum level of filtering to block out access to pornographic and illegal child abuse websites.
Friendly Wi-Fi works in partnership with the Internet Watch Foundation.
About Friendly Wi-Fi
Friendly Wi-Fi aims to help parents, children and young people make informed choices about using public Wi-Fi and protects them from viewing inappropriate material. The scheme was initiated and is supported by UK government.
Friendly Wi-Fi verifies whether the public Wi-Fi provided at a venue meets an industry standard for filtering, blocking access to sites containing inappropriate content. We are now encouraging all of our clients to join the Friendly Wi-Fi scheme and be accredited as a Friendly Wi-Fi venue. Current members of the scheme include Tesco, Starbucks and Samsung plus many other businesses across the UK who offer public Wi-Fi.
Wireless Social and Friendly Wi-Fi
As Wireless Social is an approved provider of Friendly Wi-Fi our customers have peace of mind knowing that their Wi-Fi meets this standard.
What’s more, each Wireless Social customer can apply to join the Friendly Wi-Fi scheme, which means that they can then promote their Wi-Fi with the Friendly Wi-Fi logo. This would be especially beneficial to businesses that are child friendly, like play centres, restaurants and cafes.
