We were delighted to have the opportunity to be a part of the hospitality sector’s first ever Women’s Entrepreneur Conference, launching the Wireless Social’s Woman Entrepreneur of the Year award.
Curated by Propel and Ann Elliott, CEO of elliotts Agency, the day celebrated some of the wonderful female entrepreneurs in our sector, showcasing their amazing hard work and dedication to building something fantastic for the industry.
Not only did we see some bloody amazing women, we also saw a variety of businesses, each offering something special. From inventive kebabs, to Mexican street food and traditional English pubs, the conference covered just about every trend you could think of and showcased the hard work and dedication that goes into building these brands.
In such a male dominated industry it was super encouraging to hear from the women who not only built these fantastic concepts, but who had decided to take a leap into the unknown and pursue their dreams – a feeling I know all too well. They showcased the blood, sweat and tears that goes into developing something you’re completed passionate about and honestly, I think the audience left feeling inspired and motivated.
During the day, we also awarded the first ever Wireless Social Women’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award – not an easy decision to make with so many great nominations. After much deliberation, we awarded it to Nisha Katona, the founder of Mowgli Street Food. Not only is the venue amazing, but she started the business whilst still pursuing her career as a children’s protection barrister, as well as being a mother to her children. Like many others, Nisha’s is a story of dedication, hard-graft, determination and the fulfilment that comes with channelling your passion into something to be proud of.
At Wireless Social, we’re honoured to have been part of such a brilliant industry event and strongly support anyone looking to pursue their dreams in such a hard market.
